At the end of each day, ask three simple questions

A good friend of mine in Santa Barbara got me hooked on asking three simple questions at the end of each day.

  1. What did you learn?
  2. Who did you help?
  3. What did you enjoy?
When I first started doing this at dinner with my girlfriend, it admittedly wasn't always easy to come up with three good answers. This realization, however, started pushing us to seek things out during our day so that we had something to share. I now wake up everyday with 3 main goals: learn something, help someone, enjoy myself. In doing this, I find I'm happier, smarter, and better to the people around me.
